PRESS: Rostelecom needs 359,041 tablets for all-Russian 2020 census
MOSCOW, Sep 10 (PRIME) -- Russian state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom intends to buy 359,041 tablets for the 2020 census, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday, referring to documents released on digital trading floor SETonline.
The operator will buy hardware and software.
A tablet will run on operating system Sailfish Mobile OS Rus, whose two developers almost fully belong to Rostelecom, as well as the operator’s SIM card and a mobile application. The set will also comprise a SD card, a case, and a fastened stylus.
The tablet weighing no more than 700 grams is to have a rear camera of at least 5 megapixels and a front camera of at least 2 megapixels, RAM of at least 2 GB and internal memory of 8 GB.
A supplier is to provide a guarantee for 18 months for all components and replace malfunctioning elements within 48 hours during the census, which will take place throughout October 2020.
